In the Name of Allah the Most Merciful and the Beneficent

15th February 2015

Shri Arvind Kejriwal

Chief Minister, Delhi

Dear Sir,

I, on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, congratulate you and Aam Aadmi Party on the historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections 2015. Your election campaign was unique and commendable because you raised the issues of common people without flashing the card of caste, class or creed. Your success has also proved that there is huge scope for value-based politics, for which the Jamaat has been advocating and striving since long.

BJP had won the General Elections last year on the promises of development and welfare of all. But the massive victory made the party and its leaders arrogant and they put the poll promises and real issues of people on the back burner and launched hate campaigns targeting minorities. The huge success of AAP in Delhi elections is a strong democratic reply to arrogance and politics of hatred. I hope you will do your best to fulfil the promises your party has made in the Election Manifesto for the welfare of Delhi residents.

The common people of Delhi now hope that the new government of AAP will address their issues such as employment, health and education, and will eliminate the menace of corruption. The AAP government will ensure justice to all sections of the society, establish peace and harmony and take effective steps for protection of weaker sections including minorities and women. Specific issues of Muslims such as safety, security and victimization in the name of terrorism should also be addressed seriously. The Muslim pockets of Delhi are relatively more neglected. Your government should give special attention to them.

I, on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, offer my best wishes to you and your government. Like before, we will continue to support your all efforts to resolve the above-mentioned problems of the people and to promote value-based politics.

In the last three years, you and your team members have thrice visited our headquarters in Delhi and we had constructive discussions on various issues of common people including minorities. We hope that the chain of our meetings and discussions will continue in future.

We believe that corruption, crimes against women, injustice to weaker sections and other social evils cannot be checked completely unless people fear God and accountability before Him.

May Almighty Allah help you in your endeavour to make the society peaceful, prosperous and free from injustice, corruption and other social evils!

Regards

Maulana Syed Jalauddin Omari

Ameer (National President)
