New Delhi, 29 Nov 2014: A delegation led by the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party chief Abdul Hadi Awang made a goodwill visit to the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind here and interacted with leaders of the Jamaat.
In an interaction with Jamaat leaders and eminent intellectuals of the Muslim community Monday evening, Mr. Awang appreciated Jamaat’s social and religious works. He also talked about his organization PAS.
With the membership of approximately one million, Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, commonly known as PAS, is said to be the largest party outside Malaysia’s current ruling Barisan Nasional coalition.
Jamaat leaders who were in the meeting included Vice President Mohammad Jafar, Secretary General Nusrat Ali and several national secretaries. Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan, President, All India Muslim Majlise Mushawarat and eminent cleric Abdul Wahab Khilji were also present in the meeting.
