Three-day meeting of Jamaat’s Central Advisory Council begins

New Delhi, 02 Nov 2014: The three-day meeting of Markazi Majlis-e Shoora (Central Advisory Council) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind began here at Jamaat’s headquarters Sunday morning. The Shoora meeting inaugurated by Ameer-e Jamaat (National President) Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari will deliberate several important issues facing the country and the Muslim community. The changed social and political situation in the country in the wake of formation of new government at the Centre and people’s expectations and apprehensions will top the agenda.

 

The Shoora will discuss the current social and political situation in the country and the changes coming after the new government took charge at the Centre in May this year and in some of the states.

 

The Shoora will also discuss people’s expectations and apprehensions and what should be their role at social and political level in the changed situation.

 

The Shoora will prominently discuss major issues, expectations and apprehensions of religious minorities particularly the largest Muslim minority from the new government at the Centre and how they should engage with the new government and to strengthen communal harmony and mutual trust in the society and participation in the development of the country.

 

Work and directions of the new Central government in its first five months will also be assessed.

 

It will also discuss major issues of the Muslim World.

 

After the three-day meet, which will be last routine meeting of the present term (2011-2015), resolutions will be passed on important social and political issues of the country as well as the Muslim World.

 

Members of the 19-member Shoora who are attending the meet are: Nusrat Ali, Muhammad Jafar, Syed Sadatullah Husaini, Mohammad Salim Engineer, Dr. S. Q. R. Ilyas, Dr. Hasan Raza, H. Abdul Raqeeb, Dr. Mohd. Rafat, T. K. Abdullah, S. Ameenul Hasan, V.K Ali, Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Mujtaba Farooq, T.Arif Ali, Maulana Mohd. Yusuf Islahi, Maulana Waliuallah Sayeedi Falahi, Parwaaz Rahmani

 

K. A. Siddique Hassan and SM Mallick are not attending the meet on health grounds while Hasan Raza on Haj pilgrimage.

 

All secretaries are also attending the meeting as special invitees. They are: Mohammad Ahmed, Maulana Mohammad Rafeeque Qasmi, Shafi Madani, Mohammad Iqbal Mulla and Ashfaque Ahmed.
