Today majority of media is spreading evils in place of virtues while it is an important responsibility of media to create an atmosphere against evils, said Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind while inaugurating the Media Production House here at the headquarters of Jamaat on Sunday evening. He also expressed concern on the fact that majority of media is not independent, rather working to promote the interests of different forces. JIH chief while counting the efforts of Jamaat in the field of media said that through this media house we aim to raise the voice of truth and justice and promote constructive and moral values. This is our small effort but Insha Allah (God Willing) this will lead to better media efforts across the country.

Addressing the distinguished gathering, Santosh Bharti, chief editor, Chauthi Duniya weekly appreciated the efforts of the Jamaat and said he had no knowledge if Jamaat was so sincere on national and social issues. Highlighting the importance of media, internet, Mobile phone, video streaming and social networking, he advised the Jamaat to do more work on these fronts.

Dr Zafarul Islam Khan, President, All India Muslim Majlise Mushawarat said Jamaat has been serious about media since its birth. This is why it has brought out 40 newspapers and magazines in 15 languages in last 60 years. Still lots are be done, he added. Dr Khan, who is also editor of English fortnightly Milli Gazette, said no other Muslim organization has ever done any organized work in the field of media.

Dr. Zafar Mahmood, president, Zakat Foundation of India, Maulana Abdul Hameed Nomani, Secretary, Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind and Siraj Paracha, Editor, Urdu daily Qaumi Salamati also expressed their happiness at the launch of media house and offering best wishes to the Jamaat they said it is the need of the hour.

Anchoring the program, Mohammad Salim Engineer, Director, Media House and Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Hind talked about the aims and objectives of the media house and highlighted its importance in today’s time. He thanked the guests. The program earlier started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Zameer Azmi.
