JIH’s 75 yrs: Ahmedabad Unit holds a grand city meet; calls Muslims to ‘enter into Islam completely’

March 25, 2023

Ahmedabad: Jamaat-E-Islami Hind (JIH) Ahmedabad has organized a grand city conference here at Gandhi Hall, Juhapura to mark 75 years of the organisation’s formation. The central theme of the conference was ‘Enter into Islam completely [and perfectly]’ (ادخلوا فی السلم کافۃ  – Quran: Al-Baqarah –   verse 208) in which about two thousand people including a large number of women attended.

Delivering his presidential address, JIH National Secretary Maulana Raziulislam Nadvi elucidated the main theme of the conference in four points. He explained, “First, the verse addresses believers and demands them to fulfill all requirements of faith. Second, believers are being told to be obedient to Allah and do not disobey His commands. Islam also means obedience to Allah. So, whoever calls himself a Muslim, declares that he will always remain obedient to Allah. Third, the ‘kaffah’ has two meanings. Its first meaning is to follow Islam completely with all its injunctions, rather than accepting some and ignoring others. Muslims should accept all Islamic teachings sincerely, irrespective of their likes and dislikes. Its second meaning is to follow teachings of Islam collectively, as the word exhorts Muslims to fulfill the collective requirements of Islam and attach with the community. Lastly, this verse warns believers not to follow Satan. Because Satan is believers’ open enemy, he wants to distract them from the path of Allah, create confusion, and incite hatred and malice among them, so beware of his plots.”

Talking about the women, Maulana Raziulislam Nadvi has clarified that all the speeches of Islam are related to men and women equally, and anyone, whether male or female, is personally responsible for his/her actions before Allah Almighty.

Children should be instilled with the fear and love of Allah just as mobile phones needed antivirus, he added.

Speaking on the unity of the Muslim community, All India Personal Law Board’s member and JIH Maharashtra Vice President Maulana Ilyas Falahi stressed on the need to promote mutual love and tolerance among all.
