New Delhi, September 24: The Maharashtra Zone of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and Girls Islamic Organisation have jointly filed a defamation lawsuit in the Bombay High Court today seeking Rs 10 crores in damages from the Mumbai Police. In April this year, the Mumbai Police had leaked an internal circular tarnishing the image of GIO and JIH.

State President (Ameer-e Halqa) of JIH Maharashtra Mr. Taufique Aslam Khan, who is also state patron of GIO, Maharashtra, said they have filed the lawsuit as the Police circular has caused big damage to the reputation of GIO and JIH.
